Course for Workers’ Safety Representatives

This training course is designed for those who hold the role of company “Workers’ Safety Representative” or “RLS”, using the Italian acronym. It provides in-depth knowledge on legislative decree 81/08 and on the duties of the RLS in representing workers’ requests regarding health and safety issues.

- Course duration: 32 hours
- Frequency of refresher training: annual, the length varies:
- Companies or production units with 0 – 15 workers: refresher training is optional
- 15 – 50 workers: 4 hours
- More than 50 workers: 8 hours
- Classroom/e-learning: the course must be held in the classroom
- Certificate: at the end of the course and after passing the test, a certificate of attendance is issued
- Legal framework: The Consolidated Law on Health and Safety in the Workplace – Italian Legislative Decree 81/08 – art. 37
Note: the number or Workers’ Safety Representatives in a company varies according to the number or workers:
- 1 RLS: up to 200 workers
- 3 RLS: from 201 to 1000 workers
- 6 RLS: more than 1000 workers
In order to address the subject matter adequately, the teachers involved have robust personal experience in the management of occupational safety issues, they usually also hold the position of RSPP. The PLS teachers are assisted by specific professional experts who ensure a comprehensive training experience: psychologists, experts in communication, doctors, trade union representatives, etc.
