Recipients and focus areas
The training course is designed to enable even non-technical staff, i.e., without specific medical training, to use a defibrillator. It teaches them how to keep a cardiac arrest victim alive by using a semi-automatic defibrillator until the emergency services arrive.

- Course duration: 5 hours
- Frequency of refresher training: every 24 months
- Classroom/e-learning: classroom training with practical exercises
- Requirements: none
- Certification: a certificate of competence is issued at the end of the training course.
- Legal framework: Law Decree n. 158/2012, converted into Law n. 189/2012 (the “Balduzzi Law”), then the Decree of 19 July which made it mandatory for amateur sports clubs to equip themselves with a semi-automatic external defibrillator.
